Corium is pleased to be part of Litquake 2010, the largest independent literary festival on the West Coast. Corium will have an event at Lit Crawl on Saturday, October 9, the culminating event of a stellar week of literary offerings.

I am delighted to announce that the second issue of Corium Magazine is up! We received many great submissions and the issue is comprised entirely of remarkable writing. Must name all because of their amazing contributions!

Corium’s Responses to Six Questions For …

Jim Harrington was kind enough to pose his “six questions” to me prior to Corium’s debut. For those not familiar with his unique, helpful and very interesting concept, he asks editors, publishers, agents, educators, and writers the same six questions and posts responses approximately every 2-3 days.

I enjoy reading Jim’s blog, as it provides great insight into the methods by which other editors evaluate submissions. Each editor brings his/her unique personality to the process, and being privy to direct comparisons of these qualities provides valuable insight to writers with regard to selecting where and what to submit. I hope that the answers I provided on behalf of Heather, Greg and me provide similar insight.

My responses went up today here. Meanwhile, I encourage you to take a look at other editors’ responses on Jim’s blog.

It’s our birthday for two more minutes. And I’ve gotta say, it’s been a good one. Like one with yellow cupcakes with chocolate frosting. And one of those jumpy castles with slides. And a Big Wheel or one of those oversized Barbie heads whose hair you could style, with a convenient pink tray/head stand for makeup.

I am overstimulated, overtired, sugared up and really just very, very happy that people liked the words here. The ones who put them together did gorgeous things, didn’t they?

Thanks for all of the interest and fantastic submissions. Heather, Greg and I are surprised and thrilled with the quantity and quality of writing and artwork that is coming to Corium.

We’ve been asked a number of times when the first issue will go live. And the answer is …
